Step One

You will want to start with some pieces of fabric and a embroidery hoop. The fabric should be a little bit bigger than the fabric hoop. We used a 6” embroidery hoop, so are pieces of fabric were 8” x 8” and 8” x 4”-5”. We used ivory and red to match the Valentine’s Day theme but get creative, use patterns and different textures. You will want to lay the smaller piece half way up the larger piece. Then, take both and put on top of the inside embroidery hoop. Slide the top part of the hoop over the fabric and secure it in place. Adjust any fabric you need until it is just as you want it and then screw the hoop together until it is tight.

Step Two

Now, you can make it your own. We added some puff balls under the opening. We simply glued them down to the fabric. You can also add some twine string (you will need to add it with the fabric if you choose to do this step so it is inside the ring with the fabric). You can add all sorts of embellishments at this point. Again, get creative and use the materials you have available and can salvage from other projects!

Step Three

Cut the extra fabric and string off of the back side. Cut it close to the hoop all around the back side or you can also hot glue the excess fabric to the inside of the hoop (on the back side) so it does not show when looking at the front of the hoop.

Lastly, make some cute notes. Cut cardstock all the same size and color or mix it up and cut them randomly. It really doesn’t matter, what matters is taking the time to write a little something to the people in your life that you want to know you care. Tell them what you love about them and share a new one each day! This doesn’t have to just be for Valentine’s day, feel free to make it a neutral color and share something with your loved ones all year long!!

Get creative! Have fun!! And most of all: Share the LOVE!!!
